The Detroit Red Wings will announce on Tuesday who will lead their team from behind the bench.
WXYZ reports that team general manager Ken Holland will hold a press conference at Joe Louis Arena tomorrow at 11 a.m. to announce the Red Wings’ new head coach. Many believe current Grand Rapids Griffins head coach Jeff Blashill will succeed Mike Babcock, who signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs last month.
The Griffins were eliminated from the Calder Cup Playoffs last week in the Western Conference Finals. Blashill won the Calder Cup in 2013 with the Griffins, which was his first season as head coach.
