The Tigers and Royals will open a three game series tonight at Kauffman Stadium. Detroit has a half-game lead over Kansas City for first place in the American League Central. Justin Verlander and  Jason Vargas will head to the mound. Verlander says he had a blister early in the week, but he does not expect it to affect him tonight. The Tigers will start Max Scherzer and Rick Porcello on Saturday and Sunday against K.C. Detroit is 11-5 against the Royals this season.
