  • Tigers Won't Get Big Game James

    Right hander James Shields won’t be joining David Price in Detroit. Shields and the Padres have reportedly agreed on a four-year contract. Various reports say the deal is worth between $72 million and $78 million and includes a club option for a fifth year. The Marlins and Cubs had shown a serious interest in "Big Game James" as well. Fox Sports' Jon Paul Morosi reported the Tigers had some conversations with Shields' representatives, but Morosi didn't know to what extent.
