The Red Wings (16-9-6) are hoping their streak of 3rd period break downs will end tonight when they host the Vancouver Canucks (11-14-8). Detroit has blown a lead late in the final period in nine of their last 14 games. The Wings should be able to push away early against a struggling Vancouver team on their second game of a back to back. Vancouver has lost three straight while only scoring two goals combined in those games. Last night's 2-0 loss to Philadelphia was the 4th time the Canucks have been shut out in their last 7 games.
Vancouver Center, Henrik Sedin left during Thursday's game with a lower body injury and is not expected to play tonight. Detroit Forward, Tomas Tatar is planning to go tonight after recovering from an illness.
