Tigers Land In The Twin Cities

The Tigers are off to Minnesota after taking two of three in Seattle. Detroit will open a four game series in the Twin Cities tonight with David Price on the mound, while the Twins counter with Mike Pelfrey. Detroit is 14-and-3 overall this season when Price starts. Pelfrey has an 8.50 ERA over his last five starts. The Tigers, now 43-and-41, are seven games behind the Royals for first place in the American League Central. Minnesota is 4 ½ games out in the division. The series at Target Field features Final Vote competitors Yoenis Cespedes and Brian Dozier, who trail Mike Moustakas in the voting. Cespedes is batting .333 (12-for-36) with seven extra-base hits and seven RBIs against Minnesota, while Dozier is 8-for-32 off Tigers pitching this season.
